ASC Advisory Service
The ASC Advisory and ARC service aims to support schools and other educational settings to develop their capacity to meet the needs of children affected by social communication and interaction difficulty including autism. We work in line with recommendations from the SEN Code of Practice (2001), the SEN Disability Act (2005), and other current legislation.
The service operates four core strands:
- Provision of educational advice and support from advisory teachers and specialist autism workers to improve inclusive opportunities and educational outcomes for Swindon children and young people who have an identified difficulty with social communication and interaction including autism (Non Chargeable)
- In school ARC INREACH support from specialist ASC Teachers and autism workers available to deliver extended programmes of support and intervention for pupils and training for staff. (Chargeable)
- Offsite support through our Autism Resource Centres (ARC) where schools and settings can commission the ARC to provide up to 7 sessions per week of therapeutic intervention and intensive support (Chargeable)
- Delivery of ASC school-based INSET and organisation of Swindon Borough wide training open to school based staff, other professionals, parents etc (Chargeable)
